Foundation in Independent Advocacy (Scotland)

This is a non-accredited introductory independent advocacy course, specifically aimed at those working in Scotland. This is ideal for new advocates in Scotland, and also for those who are not working in an independent advocacy role.

If you are a new independent advocate, then this course will provide knowledge of the principles which underpin the role, and the relevant practice standards in Scotland.

This is also an ideal independent advocacy course for those who may be considering a career change and want to find out more about what independent advocacy entails. It would also be helpful to those of you that may use or want to develop better independent advocacy practice skills in your work.

You may also work alongside independent advocates and would like to have a better understanding as to what they do and the principles they apply in their work. This independent advocacy course will enable you to understand the purpose and aims of their role.

The course does not require a portfolio of practice evidence, so you can study the theory of independent advocacy without working as an advocate. You will find out more about the role, communication and how to provide inclusive advocacy support. You can start the course at any time, and it is entirely based online.

Our course will allow you to access interesting and informative video content prepared by highly experienced trainers. We have a modern learning programme directly linked to our website, so you can access your course at anytime from anywhere.

The cost of this course is £120 (+ VAT) – this price is fully inclusive. You have 6 months in which to complete this course.
