You have enrolled to complete the Level 4 Independent Advocacy Practice standalone optional unit for Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (404). This course is provided by Handa Training and Development Ltd, and the awarding organisation is City & Guilds.
Your assessor will contact you direct to confirm who they are using the email address you supplied during the enrolment process. You can contact them via their email for any support as you progress.
To start the qualification, click the link below (Get Started), and you will be taken to your first lesson.
We require you to complete the Introduction lessons first. We want you to watch an introduction video about the Level 4 qualification, and then complete the questions and our centre forms which form part of your portfolio. Then we need you to watch the video explaining how to upload your work.
Once you have completed Lesson 1, we recommend you do Lesson 2 next. Following that you can do the remaining lessons in Part 1 in any order you wish. Just click on that lesson on the navigation bar on the right-hand side of your screen.
This optional unit will focus largely on your practice assessment through:
- Advocacy Practice Records
- IMCA Report (Redacted)
- Full Case Record (Redacted)
- Practice Observation
You need to submit 3 Advocacy Practice Records relating to the optional unit you are undertaking. Please refer to the guidance in the lessons for what you need to do with submitting these records.
You will need to submit all 3 Advocacy Practice Records, your IMCA Report, and your Full Case Record before they are assessed.
When you have finished this task and submitted all your records, your assessor will receive notification and assess your work. Where necessary they may give further guidance in order that you may complete it successfully.
Please refer to the guidance below regarding your Practice Observation.
Practice Observation Guidance
You will also need to complete the remaining lessons and submit the assignment to pass this unit.
Please allow 5 working days for your assessor to complete your assessment, but we do try and reply within a shorter timeframe if commitments allow.
If you have any questions, please contact your assessor who will be pleased to help.
If your assessor is on leave you can also receive support via our general email address which is:
enquiries@handatraining.org
Once you have successfully completed all the parts of your qualification, we may submit your work to our internal quality assurer and in some instances also let City & Guilds look at your portfolio. Once that is completed, we can request your certificate from City & Guilds. In most instances you will be provided with an e-certificate which you can print off at home or work, followed by a hard copy which will be sent to you by post.
